# 2938  2019 All Tournament Teams

The All Tournament Teams for 2018 were announced at each final on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Most Valuable Player in Class A was Colin Peers (Fairport), in Class C, Sam Miller (Geneva), in Class D, Connor Fingar (Penn Yan) and in Class B, Jack LaRue (Victor). Players were selected on the basis of their performances in the Section Five Tournaments.

# 2926  Penn Yan Secures 24th Win

Penn Yan came back in overtime to defeat Pal-Mac 10-9 to win their 24th Sectional Title.  The Mustangs trailed early in the contest before taking a one goal lead into the break.  They held that lead into the fourth, when Pal-Mac scored the final two goals of regulation to force overtime.  The Red Raiders had the first overtime offensive opportunity after winning the draw; however, they could not get a shot off on cage before Penn Yan got the ball upfield on an errant pass.  The Mustangs scored with 0:05 left in the first overtime period with an inside dodge by Colton Smith. Smith was named to the All Tournament Team.

# 2891  Spencerport Comes Back for OT Win

Spencerport fought back with the last three goals to defeat Midlakes 7-6 in the second overtime period.  The Rangers held the Screaming Eagles scoreless for the final 21 minutes spanning the third, fourth quarters and two overtime periods.  Spencerport had an early lead before Midlakes scored five out of six straight goals to take a two goal lead into the late third quarter.

# 1397  Pittsford and Schroeder Win OT games

Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: There were most certainly a lot of exciting games played in the section today that included four one-goal games, two in overtime. Pittsford beat Brighton in overtime and Schroeder won the battle in Webster in overtime. The Finger Lakes Tournament began today with three good matchups.

# 1380  Victor Spoils Corning Undefeated Season

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Victor faced a strong Corning team, who had eleven wins before today and spoiled their undefeated season with a 14-3 win at home. Leading the offense was sophomore attackman Camden Hay who had 4g. Nine other players each scored one goal. Senior midfielder Tuker Hill had eleven face off wins (92%). Canandaigua beat Orchard Park on the road.

# 1339  Irondequoit Over Pittsford and Midlakes Wins in OT

Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: Of the eleven games pplayed today on the eve of spring break, most were played in wet conditions. The big exception was Victor who hosted Jamesville-DeWitt at the Pinnacle indoor facility in Victor. The Blue Devils took a commanding lead, at one point up 7-1, but the highly regarded and NYS Class C finalist came back and made for an exciting finish with Victor the winner 13-10.

# 1335  Midlakes Wins in Overtime

Matt Mattoon scored his lone goal of the game in the first overtime period to give Midlakes a win in their season opener.  The Screaming Eagles led 10-6 with just over six minutes remaining before Newark went on a four goal streak to force overtime.  The Screaming Eagles led or were tied for the entire contest, but the Reds kept the game close throughout.  The four goal lead with six minutes left was the largest margin in the game.
